Who I Am

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and EMDR Certified Therapist in Washington, DC, and I specialize in the treatment of complex and developmental trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders, relationship problems, and difficulty regulating emotions.

My Background

Prior to beginning my full-time private practice, I served as a Staff Psychologist and Director of Psychology Training at Georgetown University’s Counseling and Psychiatric Service (CAPS). I have trained at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, NYU/Bellevue Hospital, Princeton House Behavioral Health - Penn Medicine, Manhattan Psychiatric Center, The Renfrew Center, and Potomac Behavioral Solutions in Arlington, VA, where I headed a comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program and completed intensive training in DBT through Behavioral Tech LLC. I have also received training in EMDR from Deany Laliotis’ Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy. I earned my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Columbia University, and my M.A. and B.A. in psychology from Wesleyan University.

My Clinical Approach

Many of us find ourselves struggling with persistent feelings, patterns, and reactions that hold us back. Perhaps you’ve tried psychotherapy before, and you have a good understanding of your problems but they haven’t changed. Or perhaps you 'know' that you are capable, worthy, and appreciated by others, but at your core, you don't feel this way.

I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) – a powerful, integrative psychotherapy approach – to tackle deeply rooted issues that have remained stuck, often for many years. Many of my clients struggle with childhood trauma, attachment and relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and/or disordered eating.

Together, we will work to change the way you feel about your past, present, and future. I invite you to reach out to me for a complimentary, 10-15 phone consultation to determine whether I am the best fit for your needs and goals. I look forward to hearing from you!
